The Pygmy Owl
The Pygmy owl is small and has a long tail 🦉 consisting of about 31 to 35 species and distributed worldwide 🌎
- It has shiny yellow eyes, it's feathers are a reddish-brown speckled with white.
The pygmy owl perches at a diagonal position rather than upright as most other owls do. They are members of the genus Glaucidium. They belong to the typical owl family, Strigidae.
These are mostly small owls, and some of the species are called "owlets". Most pygmy owl species are nocturnal and hunt mainly large insects and other small prey.
