The Roseate Spoonbill
The Roseate Spoonbill! A mouthful for sure, but a gregarious and graceful bird nonetheless. Unlike herons, spoonbills fly with their necks outstretched. The spoon-shaped bill allows it to sift easily through mud. It feeds on crustaceans, aquatic insects, frogs πΈ newts and very small fish ignored by larger waders!π¦©Β
